ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In December Istat estimates that the turnover of industry, net of seasonal factors, increases in conjunctural terms of 0.5% in value and 1.7% in volume. On the internal market there is a change in value and an increase of 2.3% in volume, while on the foreign market there are increases of 1.3% in value and of 0.7% in volume. The service sector is estimated to grow by 1.0% in value and 0.8% in volume, with increases in both wholesale (+0.8% in value and +1.3% in volume) and in other services (+1.1% in value and +0.8% in volume). The seasonally adjusted indices of turnover in value related to the main groupings of industries recorded in December a conjunctural increase for consumer goods (+1.4%) and for intermediate goods (+0.7%), while decreases for capital goods (-0.2%) and for energy (-1.6%). In the fourth quarter of 2025 the turnover of the industry, in terms of economic and net seasonal factors, is growing (+0.4% in value and +1.1% in volume).
In the same time period, services increased by 0.1% in value and 0.3% in volume. In December, industry turnover, adjusted for calendar effects, recorded a trend increase in value (+3.6%) and volume (+4.8%). Istat estimates growth both on the internal market (+3.0% in value and +5.0% in volume) and on the foreign market (+4.9% in value and +4.2% in volume). For the service sector, net of the calendar effects, there is a trend increase of 2.9% in value and 2.7% in volume, with an increase in both wholesale (+1.1% in value and +0.9% in volume) and in other services (+4.7% in value and +3.2% in volume). The correct indices for the calendar effects of turnover in value related to the main groupings of industries record, on an annual basis, a decrease for energy alone (-15.6%), while an increase for intermediate goods (+2.3%), for consumption (+2.7%) and for capital goods (+9.6%).
