ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Renault unveils the name of its future bold and charismatic crossover: Filante. This high-end crossover, which further strengthens the offensive produced outside Europe, will be the fifth vehicle of a series of eight planned within the International Game Plan 2027. Renault once again resumes the ranks of his story. To embody the top of the Brand’s range outside of Europe, it leverages the forces of the legendary Etoile Filante, a single-seater presented in 1956, directly inspired by the air force and designed to beat every speed record. With its tapered design, state-of-the-art specifications and records, in particular over 300 km/h on distances of 1 and 5 km, it has made the car history. The name also refers to the concept-car Filante Record 2025, which established an electric efficiency record at the end of 2025. “Korea has a real know-how in the D and E segments. That’s why Korea is so important for Renault. Filante is the second generation Renault model designed in Korea as part of the International Game Plan 2027. It embodies our vision of a bold and charismatic crossover, but also perfectly takes the French roots of the Brand” says Nicolas Paris, CEO of Renault Korea.Renault Filante will be assembled at the plant in Busan, South Korea. Initially it will be marketed on the local market and subsequently exported to other regions. All information on this new model will be revealed in South Korea on 13 January 2026. Sylvia dos Santos, Head of Strategy Naming at the Global Marketing Direction of Brand, explains in a video because Renault chose the name Filante: “The semantic of the name Filante refers directly to the falling stars, the space and travels that perfectly illustrate the distinctive design of our vehicle,” says Dos Santos.
