ROME (ITALPRESS) – ITA Airways kicks off, today, the new 2025 summer season with big news aimed at its customers. First of all, the relocation of its ground and flight operations at Frankfurt Airport’s T1 terminal and Munich Airport’s T2, the main ones of their respective terminals, which are also used by Lufthansa Group airlines. “Thanks to this innovation, ITA Airways passengers will benefit from additional advantages that will make their travel experience even more comfortable and tailor-made,” reads a note. “In fact, the joint use of the main terminals with Lufthansa Group airlines will significantly reduce transfer times and access to security checkpoints from the check-in area. At the same time, passengers will have more direct access to connecting and codeshare flights with the German group’s airlines, which are operational from today. To mark the occasion, the livery of ITA Airways’ two Airbus A320neo aircraft, which today operated the flight from Rome Fiumicino to Munich and Frankfurt, was enhanced with the “Member of Lufthansa Group” sticker.”
Also starting today, ITA Airways passengers will be able to access more than 130 lounges around the world, and at the same time, passengers of Lufthansa Group carriers, will be able to use ITA Airways lounges in accordance with the Companies’ access arrangements. “Today is a very important day in our Company’s growth journey,” said Joerg Eberhart, CEO and General Manager of ITA Airways, “we are adding additional benefits to ensure an increasingly complete and comfortable flying experience for our customers. Thanks to the presence of ITA Airways in the main terminals of the Lufthansa Group’s two hubs, Made in Italy service excellence will become increasingly central to the passenger experience, even outside Italy. “In fact, the journey to the Belpaese will begin as soon as the passenger arrives at the airport, when they check in at ITA Airways counters, and will continue on board, where they will find the hospitality and unmistakable style that distinguishes Italy,” the note continues.
ITA Airways’ summer 2025 news continues with the inauguration today, March 30, of ITA Airways’ new direct Milan Linate – Munich flight, which will operate two daily frequencies Monday through Friday to allow travelers to make round trips conveniently on the same day, and one daily frequency on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. In the 2025 summer season, ITA Airways will fly to 59 destinations, including 16 intercontinental, 27 international and 16 domestic. The airline will also introduce 12 seasonal destinations during the summer peak, including popular Mediterranean destinations such as Greece, Spain, and the Italian islands.
