PARMA (ITALPRESS) – Custody in prison issued by the Judge of Preliminary Investigations of the Tribunal of Parma for a 50-year-old native of Burundi, seriously suspected of the murder of three Saverian Sisters of the Congregation of the Missionaries of Mary (Olga Raschietti, 83enne, Lucia Pulici 75enne and Bernard Boggian, 79 year old), brutally murdered in Burundi, in the Kamenura district. The first two were killed by hitting them with a contingent object and a throat cut in the afternoon of September 7, 2014, while the third (which was out of place during the first crime) was beheaded the following night, then laying the severed head next to the body. The investigation – carried out by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Parma – was initiated after the presentation in Parma, on September 27, 2024, of the book “In the heart of mysteries”, by journalist Giusy Baioni, with an investigation into the triple murder. On the basis of such journalistic and editorial input, a file was formed and – with immediate delegation to the CCs of the Nucleo Investigativo di Parma – preliminary investigations were started to acquire that minimum of elements suitable to dress the news. In a first investigative phase, dating back to 2014, it was defined the archiving of the case for the absence of the conditions necessary to consider the existence of the Italian jurisdiction.
At a distance of about four years, the Embassy of Kampala sent to the Procura di Parma a note with which it was communicated that Guillaume Harushimana had obtained a visa for Italy to participate in a training course linked to his assignment in an association of Parma. This subject – he read in the note – was mentioned during the investigations following the assassination of the three Sisters and following statements of a repentant, who would charge government officials of a plot for the elimination of the three religious, guilty, to his say, to be aware of illicit trafficking and to be involved with rebels from the Congo. During this phase, Guillaume Harushimana was heard, but he declared himself alien to the facts, also because – in his words – in the days of the crime he was far from Burundi and exhibited to this end a copy of his passport with stamps that attested his presence in another state. This phase also closed with a storage for lack of elements. In September 2024, a third investigative phase began, initially through the acquisition of statements by some saverian nuns who were able to report (who had never previously been heard by the Burundian authorities) and journalist Giusy Baioni.
From these investigations a climate of real terror emerged that lived in Burundi, linked to the fact that the protagonists of the story would be all in various ways linked to the secret police of Burundi, from whose row would have come creators, organizers, executors of the triple murder. From the investigation it emerged that creators, organizers and executioners of the murders would all have ties with the secret police of Burundi and, among them, the deceased General Nshimirimana Adolphe, former head of the secret police of Burundi, who would have given the order to kill the three nuns asserting that they had refused to offer collaboration (hearts and medicines) to support the Burundian militias in Congo. In addition to this motive (prospected by the General), other possible causes emerged from the investigations: an economic motive, which could be linked to the decision of the direction of the saverians to unleash the Kamenge Youth Centre (by which they afflued huge economic resources) from the saverians themselves and entrust it to the local Diocese; a motive of exoteric-Sacrific culture, as the general Nshimirimana The murderous mandate would be provided to the material executors on September 6, 2024 by General Nshimirimana also through an intermediary (also the secret police, but local), with the promise of a substantial sum of money. The performers would enter the Salvarian mission to perform the crime, disguised as chierichetti or singers, accompanied by Harushimana, in turn present at the final meeting mentioned above. At first, two Sisters were killed (Sister Olga Raschietti and Sister Lucia Pulici), who, at that time (towards 14:00-14:30), were the only ones present in place, since the third Sister (Sister Bernardetta Boggian) had gone to receive other consuls at the airport). During the afternoon, the nuns’ house recorded the presence of many members of the Burundian police, who, after the inspection, arranged the transfer of the bodies to the morgue. During the night, the sisters returned to the house (while the police remained outside the premises to guard) the third murder was carried out against Sister Bernardetta Boggian, by the executors, who had remained hidden inside the building, and who then went away – disguised as cops, with uniforms that would be provided to them by the secret police. For the investigations are fundamental results then the converging statements of some people present at the tragic events of 7 and 8 September 2014; but on this it is necessary to maintain the maximum reserve. From the surveys carried out altogether, it emerged that the murder would take part, among others, General Nshimirimana Adolphe (in turn victim of a political murder), head of the Documentation (Secret Police of Burundi), as creator, sender and organizer, who -after having received, among other things, news from his collaborator Harushimana Guillaume in order to his alleged refusals He also took part in the murder of the secret police officer of Bujumbura, as an organizer, to the dependencies of General Nshimirimana Adolphe, from which – at the meeting held on 6 September2014 at a local foretold General – he received the murderous mandate of the Saveriane Missionary Sisters, transferring him to the meeting participants. Involvement of the first time of his death, a second man (author of the saver confession on the radio), a third person (guard of the general’s body, who was questioned in Parma, partially admitting the facts) and a fourth person unidentified, In order to make sure that he is not able to carry out his or her mission in order to be able to carry out his/her mission.
From the procedural point of view, as soon as there have been evidence of reality at the expense of the investigation, the Prosecutor has invested the Minister of Justice, to which the criminal code recognizes the power to ask the Judicial Authority to proceed for a crime committed by a foreign national to the detriment of an Italian citizen, in case (as in this case) the foreigner finds himself on the Italian territory; therefore intervened the request to proceed, to the prosecution This morning the Carabinieri tracked the inquisition and narrowed it down to the House of Parma.
