ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, concluded his Asian journey by stopping in Tashkent where he was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“The meeting allowed us to deepen the dialogue initiated with the adoption of the Joint Declaration on the strengthening of strategic partnership in May 2025, on the occasion of the visit of the President of the Council in the region – explains Palazzo Chigi in a note -. In this context, the two Leaders discussed major crisis theatres and key sectors of bilateral cooperation, with particular attention to critical raw materials and agro-industry. Finally, underlining the strategic character of the relations between Italy and Uzbekistan, President Meloni and President Mirziyoyev agreed to keep in close contact.”.
