It’s called Gen-E, the 100% electric version of the Ford Puma

COLUMBIA (GERMANY) (ITALPRESS) – Ford introduces Puma Gen-E, an electric version of its best-selling model in Europe, further elevating the driving pleasure and unmistakable design that have made the compact crossover a success. The new electric motor enhances performance and delivers an efficiency of 13.1 kWh/100 km. It recharges from 10 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes and the range is up to 376 km, and 523 km in the city, thus significantly reducing the number and frequency of recharges. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and precise and responsive steering response give the excitement of Puma ST in electric version. Whether for city life or those taking longer trips, Puma Gen-E offers even more space on board thanks to its compact engine. The innovative MegaBox transforms into a GigaBox, offering up to 566 liters of cargo capacity in 5-seat mode (more than many larger SUVs, ed.), thanks in part to the 43 liters of frunk, carved out of the space vacated by the gasoline engine. “Puma’s design has made history and it is a car that has now entered full credit among Ford icons. With Puma Gen-E, we wanted to preserve its essence, but characterize it with a unique and distinctive style that remained, however, true to the charm of the original. We also worked on a truly competitive launch price, to make electrics even more accessible, a key issue in moving the transition forward,” says Fabrizio Faltoni, Ford Italia Managing Director. The exteriors echo the styling of the last generation Puma, with distinctive and aerodynamic touches. As already seen on electric models, including Mustang Mach-E, the traditional grille has been replaced by an aerodynamic surface that makes Puma Gen-E even more recognizable. A sporty rear spoiler and uniquely designed alloy wheels complete the look.Inside, the digital experience lives on through two high-resolution screens for the trip computer and infotainment. The next-generation SYNC 4 system with cloud-connected navigation[6] simplifies the commute, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless[7] ensure wireless synchronization with your smartphone. Alexa Built-in allows you to use voice commands to manage to-do lists and shopping listsThe raised center console provides extra space, the sliding armrest ensures maximum comfort, and wireless charging keeps your smartphone charged at all times. Driving Puma Gen-E is easy and fun. The automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted controls makes shifting between gears simple and straightforward. Driving with one-pedal technology makes commuting in traffic less stressful and tiring. Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering naturally increases or decreases the car’s speed while Predictive Speed Assist adjusts speed at curves, traffic circles and junctions. In the city, the 360-degree camera reproduces a top-down view of the car on the screen. Adaptive and predictive Matrix Full LED headlights illuminate the road intelligently, adapting to driving conditions. Produced at Ford’s Otosan plant in Craiova, Romania, with the entire electric unit assembled in Halewood, UK, Puma Gen-E marks a new stage in Ford’s electrification process. Available for order now, deliveries will begin in spring 2025.
