Japan Week 2026 in Palermo

PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Palermo will host Japan week 2026, a prestigious event promoting Japanese culture celebrated annually in major cities around the world.

“Last year we submitted the application to the International friendship foundation, the organizing body of the festival. The project turned out to be successful. After the presentation at the Berlin Tourism Fair, today at Palazzo Palagonia alla Gancia, together with Mayor Lagalla, and then at Villa Niscemi and at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa together with Deputy Mayor Cannella, we met with IFF emissaries to define the details of the initiative that in November next year for seven days will transform Palermo into the cultural and tourist capital of the Rising Sun. We will have tea ceremonies, performances, music, crafts, ikebana, origami, samurai, kimono and koto performances, workshops, exhibitions and more. This is an extraordinary event that, based on the numbers of the last few years, attracts an average of 15,000 visitors for each edition, in addition to the induced activity of about 750 workers. Japan in the heart of Palermo,” commented Councillor for Sports, Alessandro Anello.
