ROME (ITALPRESS) – Josep Maria Recasens succeeds Luca de Meo, who has held the position of CEO of Ampere since its creation on Nov. 1, 2023. “I am delighted to pass the baton to Josep Maria as CEO, in continuity with his role as Ampere’s Chief Operating Officer, to continue the rapid and profound transformation process we have been pursuing with Ampere since its creation.
We have been working together since 2022 on this project that has become a reality, convinced that the Group, with Ampere, could make a real difference in the electric vehicle and software revolution. Ampere has already proven how good its model is, achieving convincing results in the great transition our industry is experiencing. I know that, with Josep Maria at the helm of Ampere, the company will successfully continue and further accelerate its role as a spearhead for the Group and for the European industry,” said Luca de Meo, Renault Group CEO.
In addition to the appointment of Josep Maria Recasens: Marie Ollier becomes Ampere’s Human Resources Director and joins the Leadership Team, reporting to Josep Maria Recasens. Sandra Gomez, head of the Product and Electric Vehicle Components and Software Plan, also assumes responsibility for Ampere Strategy, joining the Leadership Team. Vittorio d’Arienzo, already a member of the Leadership Team, expands his duties, becoming Product Global Leader for all Ampere vehicles.
“For 18 months now, we have been pursuing a high-speed transformation with the Ampere teams, aiming to reach industry leaders in record time. I am excited to continue this adventure as CEO and demonstrate, with the teams, the full potential of Ampere. I welcome Sandra and Marie to the Leadership Team-their roles will be critical given the large number of projects ahead. With the launch of Twingo and Europe’s first Software Defined Vehicle in 2026, the next range of C-segment electric vehicles in 2028, and the efforts we are making to reduce costs by 40 percent, we have a roadmap that lives up to our ambitious goals: to become the benchmark of our industry in Europe,” said Josep Maria Recasens.
