ROME (ITALPRESS) – At the Salone d’Onore of CONI, Juri Morico was reappointed national president of OPES, “a step that determines the will to continue and consolidate the path undertaken to date.” The re-election, a note explains, took place in the presence of CONI’s number one, Giovanni Malagò, Ministers Andrea Abodi and Francesco Lollobrigida, Deputy Minister Maria Teresa Bellucci, and Fratelli d’Italia’s political secretary chief, Arianna Meloni. “Personalities who,” the note continued, “wished to reiterate their support and closeness to President Morico and the entire OPES team for their commitment – past and future – in relation to sports, the third sector, universal civil service and training. Following the Assembly, the first Council meeting of this new course was held, in which the vice presidents and members of the council were elected. “Since I took office as National President, some things have changed,” said Morico. “Sports activity has been officially recognized by our Constitution, with the amendments to Article 33; a step that induces us to pursue, with further passion and enthusiasm, the goal of building a solid and aware culture of sports. The reforms of sports and the third sector have been maturing; matters in which we are involved directly and indirectly. We have the task and the duty to fulfill all the provisions, to be an active part and thus participate in the discussion tables recognizing their absolute authority and virtue in being able to initiate important changes; but, observing the mission and vision of the Entity, we also have the burden of training and informing all the associations and realities that rotate in our universe – more than 800 thousand. We have recovered after the pandemic by trying to make ourselves protagonists of the recovery, creating connections, expanding our reach and activating networks with partners, stakeholders, and associations. “We restart from the goals we have achieved, such as speaking about sports at the European Parliament, or addressing the issue of bullying and cyberbullying at the Venice Film Festival, thus affirming the vision that the network of collaborations works, that the work done together works,” he added. “We have grown: our committees, our sectors have done so. This is because I firmly believe that all the people in the OPES world are resources that can really generate value. And it is on this value, on the foundations we have laid, that we will build for the next four years. “Following is the list of personalities who spoke during the assembly proceedings: Marco Mezzaroma, President Sport e Salute S.p.A, Claudio Barbaro, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, Michele Sciscioli, Head of the Department for Youth Policy and Universal Civil Service – Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Flavio Siniscalchi, Head of the Department for Sport – Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Riccardo Viola, President CONI Lazio Regional Committee, and Paolo Giuntarelli, Regional Director – Regional Directorate for Presidency Affairs, Tourism, Cinema, Audiovisual and Sport, Federica Celestini Campanari, Extraordinary Commissioner Italian Youth Agency, Paolo Serapiglia, Endas President, and Fabio Fortuna, Magnifico Rector Unicusano.
