ROME (ITALPRESS) – “I don’t have a date yet, I hope to have it soon. I very much appreciated such a prompt response from the president of the Council. It seems to me that we are starting off on the right foot, no?” Thus, in an interview with la Repubblica, the new president of the Anm, Cesare Parodi. “Undeniably this is a positive thing and I cannot hide that I am very pleased about it. Keeping a dialogue open is fundamental. Which is not to say that I am optimistic with respect to the fact that things can change. And in fact the strike on the 27th remains confirmed. We will get to that date by going to the courtrooms every day with the tricolor cockade on our robes and preparing for the assemblies open to citizens that will be held in each district on the morning of the protest,” he adds, going on to explain that “the strike, which is not against the government but a tool to bring our demands to the attention of public opinion, will only be the beginning of our commitment and not even decisive. We already know that some will not join and that this will be held against us.” On what he is going to say at the table with the government, Parodi says, “This we will decide together with the junta, like any other move. My mandate will be all about the unity of the currents of the judiciary, my personal ideas do not matter. I apologize if, immediately after my election, I hotly announced my intention to request a meeting with the government without first consulting with the junta. But I felt it as a strong need. We will certainly explain our reasons in defense of a model that has worked well, which certainly has critical issues but which can be solved. The choices are made by the government, we just ask to be heard, like all citizens organized or not. Meanwhile, let’s see what the government will tell us. Based on the answer we will decide what to do.”
