TURIN (ITALPRESS) – On a very bad night, Thiago Motta cashed in his first knockout as Juventus coach. His team was defeated 1-0 by Stuttgart at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on the third day of the Champions League. The Germans won with merit against a disappointing Lady, who is expected to play the Italian derby against Inter on Sunday.
A very difficult first half for a Juventus side that suffered from the first minutes from the dynamic play of Stuttgart. In the first 45 minutes, Hoeness’s Germans moved the ball well and on at least two occasions came close to taking the lead: the first real big chance for the red and white happened on 29′ when Millot touched the ball on the right side of the box for Demirovic to cut in at the first post, the Bosnian’s right-footed volley hit the post squarely. Between 15′ and 17′, Perin again played a major role: first he lifted a Demirovic conclusion over the crossbar and then responded magnificently on Millot’s right-footed finish toward the first post. A hitherto struggling Juventus tried to react in 22′ when a first Thuram shot found Chabot’s rebound and Yildiz’s subsequent conclusion found goalkeeper Nubel alert. At 39′, Juventus was down to 10 for the expulsion of Danilo guilty of committing a penalty foul on Rouault, but two minutes later it was Perin, the best man on the field, who hypnotized Millot and deflected the French player’s attempt to convert from the eleven meters into a corner. At 47′, in the middle of the recovery, goal-masterpiece by El Bilal Tourè served centrally by Millot, the former Atalanta player did well to slip between the Bianconeri shirts and beat the blameless Perin giving his team the victory and condemning the Bianconeri to their first defeat of the season.
