ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Kia Corporation has received a Bronze Award at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2026 for the infotainment system of Kia PV5, while the global Kia campaign with The Ocean Cleanup has been named Finalist. The awards were awarded in the Digital Interaction and Social Impact Design categories of IDEA, underlining Kia’s commitment to innovation of user-centered mobility and a positive environmental impact. Developed for Kia’s first Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV), the infotainment PV5 system has been rewarded for its user-focused design and highly digital mobility experience. Among the main features: Software-Defined Mobility Experience: The platform was designed for Kia’s PBV ecosystem and enables flexible applications for business, services and leisure through a scalable software platform. Optimised widescreen 16:9 interface: Kia’s first dedicated PBV infotainment user interface features a 16:9 widescreen layout with multi-visual functionality, allowing users to access media, cameras and HVAC functions simultaneously.
Integrated design language: shared visual elements, including typography, icons, widgets and multimedia experiences, help deliver a consistent user experience between physical and digital contact points.
Kia’s global campaign, “Kia x The Ocean Cleanup: Creating a Wave of Movement, Together”, was developed as a seven-episode video series that reflects the shared vision of Kia and The Ocean Cleanup of a plastic-free ocean. The campaign is based on Kia’s continued support for The Ocean Cleanup, which has now removed over 42 million kilograms of marine waste. Among the main initiatives: Storytelling oriented to a goal: environmental data is transformed into engaging content designed to increase awareness of plastic pollution in the oceans and inspire collective action; Shared vision of sustainability: the campaign connects the work of removing marine plastic carried out by The Ocean Cleanup with Kia’s “Movement” philosophy, strengthening the shared commitment of both organizations towards a cleaner and sustainable future; Design for social impact: a consistent visual language focused on the movement unifies the whole series and demonstrates the role that design can play in the communication of sustainability initiatives.
