ROME (ITALPRESS) – In early 2025, two of Mercedes-Benz’s most anticipated new arrivals will make their debuts. On the race track, Kimi Antonelli will become a Formula 1 driver. On the road, the all-new CLA will make its world premiere. Before then, the new star and the new car meet in a playful film with the slogan “Charging up for 2025.” Before taking to the track in pre-season F1 testing, Kimi begins a journey to the snowy top of a mountain in the European Alps. Braving the frost, he arrives in the valley in something special. His car, a camouflaged version of the new CLA with a dazzling red illuminated livery, shows off its impressive energy recovery performance. By the end of the trip, the CLA had generated enough electricity to plug in and power the lights of a Christmas tree.1 Of course, the sequence was shot on a closed, supervised course, with a very capable driver at the wheel. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA will set new standards in terms of efficiency and sustainability. Almost all braking is done with the aid of recuperation and not mechanically through the wheel brakes, thus recharging kinetic energy in the battery. Heavy deceleration results in more recovered energy and gives the driver a longer range. Italian Kimi Antonelli will race alongside George Russell in 2025. Both drivers who graduated from the team’s junior program.
