ROME (ITALPRESS) – Sustainable mobility embraces Monreale. The municipality of the Norman town has made two car sharing parking stalls available to tourists and citizens. A partner in the project is KINTO, a global mobility brand of the Toyota Group, through KINTO Share, the car sharing solution that is simple, sustainable and accessible to all. Already available in the city of Palermo and also present since last April at the Cruise Terminal of the port, thanks to the collaboration with West Sicily Gate, the KINTO Share service guarantees, through a fleet of five cars from the Toyota Full Hybrid range, sustainable and convenient travel to cruise passengers who land daily at the port of Palermo with the intention of visiting the scenic and cultural beauty that the area offers. Now the novelty: tourists who will rent with KINTO Share a car at the port of Palermo, and wish to travel to Monreale, will be able to take advantage of the free parking spaces dedicated to KINTO’s car sharing positioned near the Cathedral. At the end of the visit, tourists will be able to retrieve the same car in the KINTO Share parking lots and return to the Port of Palermo, so as to resume their journey aboard the cruise ships. The fleet made available by KINTO at the Port of Palermo Cruise Terminal consists of five Toyota cars with 100% Full Hybrid technology: two Toyota C-HRs, two Toyota Corolla and one Toyota Rav4. In this way, the service contributes to making travel increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly by promoting the reduction of CO2 and NOx emissions in travel. It is a 100% digital car sharing service, which allows through an app to easily and intuitively book the most suitable car whenever you need it and manage all operations through your smartphone so as to ensure a level customer experience, thus offering users the perfect mobility solution for their needs. It is possible to book KINTO Share service cars at the Port of Palermo for half-day or full-day, with affordable and flexible all-inclusive rates (insurance, fuel, 24-hour call center, roadside assistance). Additional benefit for users will be the possibility to book the KINTO Share fleet at other locations as well: in fact, it has already been active as a public car sharing service in the city of Venice since 2018 and is gradually expanding throughout the country. To date, KINTO Share is present at 141 pickup stations, in 18 regions and 62 provinces. The service is already operational in major Italian cities, as well as in the airports of Cagliari, Olbia, Venice and Pescara. “We are very pleased to welcome this new car sharing service at zero cost to municipal coffers that, in addition to promoting sustainable and integrated urban mobility, will bring cruise passengers arriving at the port of Palermo to visit our city using these vehicles. We thank KINTO who chose Monreale among the most prestigious cities in Sicily. Cruise tourism represents a great opportunity and for this we are activating all the collaborations with the companies that manage the flows and we have already recorded the first significant results,” says the mayor of Monreale Alberto Arcidiacono. Echoing him are the words of Vincent Van Acker, Chief Operating Officer of KINTO Italy: “We are happy to add one more piece to the KINTO Share service in the Palermo area. The City of Monreale represents a cultural and scenic reference for all tourists who visit the area every day. The availability of new KINTO Share parking spaces in the center of the Norman town will allow them to reach Monreale in an easy and above all sustainable way, thanks to the use of Toyota’s range of electrified vehicles and a simple and fully digital booking and release process.”
