PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – Km Malta Airlines announces the launch of the new direct link between Malta and Palermo, further strengthening the connectivity between Malta and Sicily as part of the summer program 2026 of the Maltese flag company. The new route will operate from 30 May three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday), offering customers direct travel options between Malta International Airport and Palermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport.
“We are pleased to present Palermo as a new destination within our summer program 2026 – says David Curmi, president of Km Malta Airlines – At the moment, Palermo is not served by direct flights from Malta and this new route expands the range of destinations available for Maltese travelers, creating at the same time additional opportunities to attract visitors entering Malta. Sicily and Malta share strong cultural, economic and tourist ties – Curmi concludes – and we are confident that this link will further strengthen connectivity between the two islands.”.
Flights are available for booking via the website or Km Malta Airlines app, travel agencies and other authorized sales channels.
“We welcome with great favor the start of the new direct link between Palermo and Malta announced by Km Malta Airlines – says Gianfranco Battisti, managing director of Gesap, international airport management company of Palermo Falcone Borsellino – It is an important route that further strengthens the strategic role of the Palermo airport in the Mediterranean and expands the opportunities of mobility between two historically and culturally very close territories. This link contributes to support the growth of international traffic of the port and to promote new tourist and commercial flows between Sicily and Malta – concludes Battisti – in line with the path of development and progressive openness to the international markets that Gesap is carrying out”.
