Korean fires, Pope’s concern “I pray for the injured”

VATICAN CITY (VATICAN) (ITALPRESS) – “His Holiness Pope Francis is deeply concerned about the threat to life and damage caused by widespread forest fires in various parts of Korea. Entrusting the souls of the departed to the loving mercy of Almighty God, he sends heartfelt condolences to those who mourn their loss. His Holiness also offers prayers for the injured and for the rescue efforts of firefighters and other emergency personnel. Upon all he invokes divine blessings of consolation, healing and strength.” So reads the telegram for the victims of the fires in Korea sent — on behalf of the Holy Father Francis — by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin to local ecclesiastical and civil authorities.
