ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Sapienza of Rome confirms the first university in Italy: to certify it is the Academy Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), ranks among the most important in the field of higher education formed by the independent organization ShanghaiRanking Consultancy.
ARWU considers the world’s top 1000 universities over 2500 censuses and around 18,000 estimated worldwide. Evaluation parameters are 6: Nobel Prize winners and Field Medals of former students (10%) or single university researchers (20%), the number of highly cited researchers according to Clarivate Analytics (20%), publications on Nature and Science (20%), quotes of technological and social publications (20%).
These parameters are then related to academic staff, giving an additional pro-capite productivity parameter (10%).
Wisdom is first in Italy and 153rd globally in a ranking that sees an American rule: at the Harvard command, followed by Stanford. The Massachussetts Institute of Technology closes the podium. The first European is the University of Cambridge, fourth.
Returning to our country, the Roman athenaeus precedes the State of Milan and the Universities of Padua, Bologna and the Federico II of Naples.
