ROME (ITALPRESS) – This morning in the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of La Sapienza University, on the occasion of the Celebration of 40 Years of the Doctorate Program at Sapienza and in Italy, the Honorary Doctorate in Earth Sciences was awarded to Alberto Angela, for the great impact of his scientific and historical popularization activities in Italy and around the world. Opening remarks included a musical performance by the MuSaJazz orchestra and the screening of a video celebrating 40 years since the 1st doctoral cycle at Sapienza. This was followed by Rector Antonella Polimeni’s prologue, which was followed by the address of the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences Riccardo Faccini and the eulogy of the director of the University Museum of Earth Sciences (Must) Raffaele Sardella. Alberto Angela delivered the Lectio doctoralis entitled “Climate: the challenge to be met for the next generations.”(ITALPRESS).
