Labor, Mattarella “Ensuring security and dignity for young people”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “In a context in which safety at work is a crucial issue to ensure the effectiveness of the protection of the fundamental rights that the Republic recognizes for each person, the Lorenzo Charter represents a permanent appeal aimed at ensuring a synergy between training institutions and businesses to guarantee safe working environments, where the student is placed in a condition of centrality.” Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the President of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga. “The tragic death of Lorenzo Parelli during an internship in Udine has dramatically called the attention of the entire Italian society to the processes that accompany young people as they enter the world of work. Shortening the distance between young people and work should be accompanied by respect for their dignity as persons, workers, and citizens. I hope that the training event ‘Lorenzo’s Charter, for a school in safety’ can effectively contribute to this goal,” Mattarella concluded.
