TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Lancia has presented to the international media, at the headquarters of Stellantis Motorsport in Satory, the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, which will compete in the category WRC2 of the FIA World Rally Championship 2026. The announcement marks a new chapter in brand rebirth and offers the opportunity to present key data, race programmes and technical link between competition and production. The return of Lancia to the rally is a historic milestone for the most successful brand of the discipline: 11 World Championships Constructors Rally FIA, 1 Mille Miglia, 2 Targa Florio and 1 Carrera Panamericana.
This is not a nostalgic operation, but a project of evolution, a solid bridge between the legendary heritage of the brand and the challenges of modern motorsport, with concrete investments on young talents and a clear vision of the future. This approach is already evident in the success of the Lancia 2025 Trophy, where the Ypsilon Rally4 HF has created a lively community of over one hundred cars sold and more than forty teams in the race, confirming the effectiveness of the HF family development program. Next to the new integrated Ypsilon Rally2 HF, the Lancia4 HF family includes the Ypsilon Rally HF and the Ypsilon HF Racing, designed to make the rally more affordable and cost-effective, without compromising security, performance or construction quality. All three models are part of the Customer Racing Programme and are available for ordering via the Stellantis Motorsport Racing Shop.
The cradle of this project is Satory, the headquarters of Stellantis Motorsport, a center of excellence where the cultures and engineering skills of all Europe converge in a single shared vision, working in synergy with Balocco (Italy), where all Lancia vehicles are developed and tested, and Turin, the cradle of Lancia design. It is within this constant dialogue that takes shape the true value of Lancia: transform the race experience into tangible innovation on the road.
This technology transfer is already visible in the 280 HP Ypsilon HF electric version, the first 100% electric high-performance model of the brand, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, is equipped with a 54 kWh battery (with a WLTP range of about 370 km), adds 100 km of autonomy in just 10 minutes of fast charging and incorporates different racing-inspired solutions: from Alcon brakes from 355 mm to Torsen limited slip differential, up to ADAS level 2. Next to it, the Ypsilon HF Line brings the design language and the HF sports aptitude in more accessible engines, while preserving the intramountable combination of elegance and performance of the brand.
“The return of Lancia in the WRC is the result of a path made of humility, determination and Italian pride. We are fully aware of our legendary heritage that far from intimidating us, inspires us to give the best of us. Lancia returns to competitions, with its unmistakable style and boldness,” said Roberta Zerbi, CEO of Lancia. The event in Satory also saw the participation of Jean-Marc Finot (Senior Vice President, Stellantis Motorsport), who highlighted the synergies between the Group’s racing brands and its shared performance culture, as well as François Wales, Head of Stellantis Motorsport Customer Racing and Sports Vehicles, which presented the technical development of the new integrated Ypsilon Rally2 HF and the sports roadmap for 2026.
Eugenio Franzetti (Director, Lancia Corse HF) reviewed the results of the Lancia 2025 Trophy, while Miki Biasion, twice World Champion Rally and technical consultant of the project, underlined the emotional and symbolic value of this return: “See Lancia coming back in the rally is like closing a circle. I saw these cars take shape, I contributed to their tests and now I work alongside the young drivers of the program. It is exciting to know that once again, when someone dreams of rallying, he dreams of the Lancia”.
