Lancia Ypsilon most efficient electric car according to “From 100% to 5%”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Nuova Lancia Ypsilon takes the top spot for efficiency in the 2025 edition of the “From 100% to 5%” test, the largest comparative test of electric cars organized by Motor1.com and InsideEVs, held on Rome’s Grande Raccordo Anulare. With a consumption of 15.9 kWh/100 km, Nuova Lancia Ypsilon emerged as the most efficient electric car among the 12 models tested, demonstrating the perfect balance between design, lightness and technology for urban and extraurban mobility. The test, sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Mobility Department of Roma Capitale, put the cars through their paces in real-world driving conditions. The models involved faced daily traffic along the GRA, driving kilometers at cruising speed with the air conditioner on and the driver on board, until they reached 5 percent of battery remaining.Lancia Ypsilon excelled with an energy consumption figure of 15.9 kWh/100 km, the lowest recorded in the test, for an average running cost of 9.7 euros per 100 km. This result is the result of the winning combination of aerodynamic efficiency, thanks in part to the excellent Cx of 0.29, a low weight of about 1,550 kg, and an electric motor capable of delivering excellent performance with maximum energy savings. In addition to its fuel consumption record, Nuova Lancia Ypsilon achieved an effective range of 302 km, ranking among the best cars in the test also in terms of mileage. This result confirms Lancia’s strategy in creating electric cars that are increasingly sustainable, accessible and capable of offering an uncompromising driving experience. “This recognition shows that Nuova Lancia Ypsilon is not only a refined and technological electric car, but also a benchmark in efficiency and running costs. Our mission is to offer cars that combine iconic design, advanced technology and a concrete approach to sustainable mobility. We are proud to see our Ypsilon stand out as the most efficient in the ‘From 100% to 5%’ test,” comments Luca Napolitano, CEO of the Lancia brand.
