A day after the announcement of the divorce from Sergio Perez, the Austrian team made official the 2025 signing of the young driver from New Zealand, who will race alongside Max Verstappen.Joining the Red Bull Junior Program in 2019, Lawson made his Formula One debut in 2023 with AlphaTauri in the Dutch Grand Prix in place of Ricciardo, scoring his first points in the following race in Singapore. Last season, the 22-year-old New Zealander permanently replaced Ricciardo at Racing Bulls starting with the U.S. GP. “To be announced as a Red Bull driver is a lifelong dream for me, it’s something I’ve wanted and worked for since I was eight years old,” he comments, “It’s been an incredible journey so far, the last six races have played a key role in my preparation for this next step.
