Lazio to Coppa Italia quarterfinals, Noslin eliminates Napoli

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Lazio beats Napoli 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico and advances to the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia, where they will find one between Inter and Udinese (on the pitch next Dec. 19). A hat-trick by a wild Noslin was decisive, who made the most of the chance given by Baroni in a match characterized by the ample turn over of the two teams, who will return to challenge each other in the league on Sunday night at the ‘Maradonà. The biancoceleste coach makes seven changes from the Parma defeat, while Conte makes as many as eleven, leaving Kvaratskhelia on the bench for ninety minutes. So it is normal that it is Lazio, with some bigs like Zaccagni, Rovella (disqualified in the championship), Pedro and Lazzari, who are in the thick of things, controlling the game and turning up the pressure from the first minutes. And it is precisely the biancoceleste formation that has the first ball of the 1-0: at 19′ Pedro in the area jumps Caprile who mistimes the low exit and knocks him down. Referee Pairetto indicates the penalty spot but it is the Parthenopean goalkeeper who emerges victorious from the duel from the eleven meters with Zaccagni. The lead is only postponed at 32′: on the development of a corner kick, Gigot acts as a tower for Noslin, who from two steps puts a header into the net.
Napoli, however, just needs a flare-up to equalize: at 36′ Neres steals the ball from Tchaouna and kicks from the edge, Mandas clears short, and Simeone on the slide, anticipating Patric, scores his ninth career goal against the Biancocelesti. A mistake on the way out at 41′, however, punishes Napoli: Zaccagni fishes Pedro, who with his heel frees Noslin to shoot: the former Verona man sends Spinazzola wide and with the big boot beats Caprile. Noslin’s perfect night was not over and in the 50th minute he enjoyed his hat-trick with a header corrected into the net by Juan Jesus in an attempt to take the ball away from the goal. Lazio is confirmed among the best eight in the tournament: the Biancoceleste team has made it past the round of 16 in all of the last 14 seasons. Napoli, without European cups, will instead focus only on the league, starting with Sunday’s direct clash against Baroni’s men.
