ROME (ITALPRESS) – “The body is mine.” This was one of the many slogans of the procession, promoted by activists of “Non una di meno,” on the occasion of Nov. 25, the international day against violence against women. Opening the demonstration, which started from Piazzale Ostiense and ended at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, was the banner “Let’s disarm the patriarchy.” On the floats flowing through the crowd, the sign “Shame changes sides” is displayed. It also reads, “The violent male is not sick, but is a healthy child of patriarchy; “Prohibiting women from working is violence. “We are 150,000 strong,” organizers let organizers know from megaphones. While a long banner with the 106 names of feminicide victims is displayed in front of the Colosseum. Before the rally a photograph of Giuseppe Valditara, minister of education, was burned by some protesters, in front of the ministry headquarters. Chants and protests against other government officials: two photos of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Family Minister Eugenia Roccella covered in blood are displayed.
