LOS ANGELES (ITALPRESS) – The death toll from the Los Angeles County wildfires rises to 11, according to U.S. media reports. More than 10,000 buildings have been destroyed and more than 14,000 acres have gone up in smoke. Firefighters are trying to put out at least five extensive forest fires in the Los Angeles area. The largest, the Palisades Fire, in Pacific Palisades, has burned more than 21,000 acres and destroyed thousands of structures. The Eaton Fire, in Altadena, covers more than 13,000 acres.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, according to Palazzo Chigi reports, had a telephone conversation with the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, to whom she first wanted to express her personal and the Italian government’s feelings of solidarity for the terrible devastation caused by the wildfires in California.
