Lukaku takes away from trouble Naples, his goal victory at 96′ in Verona

VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Naples is likely to break the head-tail against the Hellas Verona, but in the recovery it wins with Romelu Lukaku. At Bentegodi, the partenopei fold for 2-1 the formation of Scalger, bringing home three precious points, arrived after a performance anything but brilliant. At the initial goal of Hojlund, Verona had responded with a shot of Akpa Akpro deviated from Hojlund in the second half: in the final, however, we think of a providential Lukaku to stamp the overtaking. The Belgian found the joy of a goal he missed since 23 May.

Conte’s boys unlock the game for the second minute, thanks to Hojlund’s lightning goal. On a soft cross of Politano from the right, Vergara spizza for the Danish who, with a precise head stroke, fishes the high angle and beats Montipò. Without overpowering, Naples manages operations, tapping the doubling on two occasions. At the 23′ Elmas tries to fish the jolly from the distance, but Montipò responds present. At 37′, however, Hojlund still shoots deep, wanders the opponent goalkeeper and kicks falling into the mirror of the door: fundamental intervention on Edmundsson’s line to keep the hosts alive.

Despite the Italian champions seem to have the situation under control, in the resumption an episode puts the match back in balance. At 64′, on the development of corner, Verona signs the 1-1, thanks to the network of Akpa-Akpro. After the Blue Defence Response, the ball arrives at the French-Ivorian midfielder who kicks at the flight to the door: the detour of Hojlund puts Meret out (The League first will assign the autogol to the Danish, then will change assigning it to the yellow player). The steps take courage and Sammarco also inserts Suslov increasing the offensive weight of the team: Conte responds by throwing in the mix, among others, Lukaku and the former Young. At 80′ the guests touch the new overtaking, but Elmas, after the exchange with Gilmour, pulls in Montipò’s mouth from an ideal position. In full recovery, however, Naples manages to win it, after risking to undergo the coffe by Bowie, due to an empty exit of Meret. On the development of a corner, Lukaku turns from inside the area the axist of Giovane, washing a little reactive Montipò.

With this victory Napoli will be temporarily in third place, at 53 points, waiting for the result of Roma (in the field tomorrow at home against Juventus). Verona, on the other hand, remains a queue of the championship, at 15.
