Macron “French and British-led mission in Ukraine”

PARIS (FRANCE) (ITALPRESS) — France and the United Kingdom have decided to carry out a “reassurance” mission to Ukraine, in which other states will also participate. This was said by French President Emmanuel Macron at the end of the work of the summit of the willing today in Paris.

“Today the proposal comes from France and the United Kingdom and is accepted by Ukraine and other member states; there is no need for unanimity for this French- and British-led mission. We have also worked as a team with representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to define location, number of forces and capabilities. Nothing is excluded, from land forces to maritime forces to air forces, but these are not a substitute for either any peacekeepers or Ukrainian forces,” Macron said. “Russia does not want peace, but regardless of what Russia will do we want to respect international law,” Macron continued, adding that several European countries will participate in these “reassurance forces.”
