ROME (ITALPRESS) – “In response to Maurizio Landini’s recent statements, I would like to emphasize the need for deep and responsible reflection on the role that each union leader must assume at this time for our country. Inciting social revolt is not a solution and risks exacerbating latent tensions that could degenerate.” This was stated in a note by Paolo Capone, UGL general secretary, with respect to the words of Maurizio Landini, CGIL general secretary, used to comment on the budget law. “I strongly believe,” he added, “that dialogue and confrontation are the necessary tools to face the current economic and social challenges. It is our duty to express any criticisms and suggest solutions to the government, putting aside ideological prejudices, to protect workers’ rights and promote collective welfare. In this sense,” Capone continued, “I appeal to all the social partners so that, in the distinction of roles, they engage in a path of mutual respect, always having as their primary objective the progress and stability of the country.
