Maneuver, salary equalization for ministers skipped

In the course of work in the House Budget Committee to examine the maneuver, a provision that would have equalized the salaries of unelected ministers and undersecretaries with those who are also parliamentarians was skipped.
In fact, a reformulated amendment to the rapporteurs’ text provides that ministers and undersecretaries who are not parliamentarians and not resident in Rome are entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses for the performance of their duties.
To finance these expense items, a fund is established with an endowment of 500,000 euros annually starting in 2025. The resources are allocated to the Administrations concerned by decree of the Prime Minister, upon the proposal of the Minister of Economy.
