March 8, Terna’s commitment with “Strategic Plan for Gender Equality”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, Terna, the national transmission grid operator, reaffirms its commitment to the issue of equal opportunities by defining the specific organizational goals and measures included in the “Strategic Plan for Gender Equality.”

The planning of an integrated and systemic policy has allowed the group led by Giuseppina Di Foggia to obtain, in 2024, IMQ (Italian Institute of Quality Mark) Certification on Gender Equality according to the UNI/PDR 125:2022 practice: an acknowledgement that attests to the effectiveness of the specific actions put in place to reduce differences in the workplace and create a more equitable and inclusive environment that rewards merit, and where each person is listened to, respected and valued for their uniqueness. To achieve this goal, Terna has established a “Steering Committee for Gender Equality,” which is in charge of ensuring the implementation of the policy on the issue and defining the Strategic Plan with the objectives to be achieved and monitored by 2026.

Le parole dell’ad Di Foggia

“International Women’s Rights Day is not only a time to reflect on the status of women in society. It is an occasion, above all, to remark on how fundamental it is to ensure that female students and professionals are recognized equal conditions in selection, performance evaluation, career advancement and relative salary level, without incurring prejudices of any kind. Terna’s Gender Equality Strategic Plan is an effective and concrete tool to achieve a fair and merit-based work environment,” commented Giuseppina Di Foggia, CEO and General Manager of Terna.

The actions under the Plan are derived, in line with the Gender Equality Certification, from the identification of 12 objectives grouped into 6 macro areas: Culture and Awareness, Research and Selection, Opportunities and Pathways to Growth, Salary Equity, Family Support, and Work-Life Balance.

Terna therefore intends to enable, with the Strategic Plan, a path of cultural transformation for the promotion of equal opportunities and the enhancement of diversity, with the ultimate goal of fostering responsible growth that generates a positive impact and contributes to reducing the gender gap, not only within the company, but also in society. The Group’s more than 6,300 people represent, in fact, its main asset: the company recognizes that the values of respect, merit and inclusion are not only to be defended, but must become genuine drivers of innovation and growth, as envisaged by the “Leadership One Terna” model.
