Marco Bussone elected new President of AIEL – Italian agroforestry association

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Marco Bussone was elected new President of AIEL – Italian association of agroforestry energies during the extraordinary and ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting, gathered at the headquarters of Veneto Agriculture in Legnaro (Padua). The Assembly also approved the Programme Plan 2026-2029 and renewed the Board of Directors and other associative bodies.

Professional journalist, in his path he has gained a consolidated experience working on the issues of territorial development, sustainable management of forest resources, renewable energies and institutional dialogue at local, national and European level. Its election takes place in a phase of normative evolution and market transformation, in which the forest-wood-energy chain is called to strengthen its role in the path of decarbonization and in policies for air quality.

“I thank President Domenico Brugnoni and all the outgoing Board of Directors for the important work done in the last three years and all the members of AIEL for their trust – said Bussone during the Assembly –. The wood-energy supply chain is not a marginal sector: it is part of the real economy of the mountain and the indoor areas, it is environmentally responsible, it is active management of the wood, it is prevention of hydrogeological dissect. But it is also the answer to the National Forest Strategy in the face of crises that continue to threaten national energy security. The economy of the forest is a priority for the entire country.”.

In his speech, Bussone indicated the priorities of the new associative governance: regulatory and fiscal stability to give certainties to enterprises, strengthening the quality and transparency of the market, development of the national supply chain of woody biofuels, full recognition of bioenergies in energy plans for achieving the mandatory quotas of energy from renewable sources.

“The companies need a clear, stable and consistent regulatory framework – he continued – that enhances those investing in innovation and quality. Our goal will be to ensure regulatory stability and fiscal certainty, strengthen the quality and transparency of the market and support the development of the national supply chain, enhancing the contribution of woody biomass in achieving the Italian and European energy and environmental objectives. AIEL will continue to be the authoritative interlocutor of the institutions, a point of reference for enterprises and operators but above all to aggregate the companies of all segments of the chain that are the true heritage and a unicum of this association”.
