MESSINA (ITALPRESS) – The University of Messina awarded the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, an Honorary Doctorate in Science of Public Administration at the opening ceremony of the University’s 2024/2025 academic year, which took place at the Vittorio Emanuele Theater.
Speakers at the ceremony included the University’s Rector Giovanna Spatari, Domenico Quartarone, Technical-Administrative Staff Representative, and Chiara Furlan, Student Representative.
The laudatio honoris causa was delivered by Gaetano Silvestri, President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court and Professor Emeritus of Constitutional Law at the University of Messina.
The presentation to President Mattarella of the honorary doctorate degree and the University seal was preceded by the reading of the reasons for the conferment by Daniela Novarese, Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Science of Public Administration, and the proclamatio doctoralis honoris causa by the Rector of the University.
The ceremony concluded with the Lectio doctoralis by the President of the Republic.
