Mattarella “Collaboration between institutions essential”

BARI (ITALPRESS) – “The first Festival, two years ago, had at its center the recognition of the Conference as a common body of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, on the basis of an agreement under Article 117 of the Constitution. It was intended to strengthen the Conference as a forum for collaboration and dialogue among these institutions to coordinate choices and take common positions. Among institutions and within institutions, collaboration, the search for common points, and the sharing of choices are essential for their proper functioning and for the service to be rendered to the community.” President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella said this evening in Bari during the opening ceremony of the 3rd Festival of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
“There are, in particular, moments in the life of every institution in which it is not possible to limit oneself to asserting one’s own vision of things – deepening furrows and contrasts – but it is necessary to be able to exercise mediation and synthesis skills,” the head of state added. “This is an essential part of democratic life since institutions belong to and respond to the entire community and everyone must be able to recognize themselves in them. I wish to reiterate my appreciation for that understanding, which highlights the centrality of institutional cooperation for the regions and autonomous provinces that allows them to be an even more authoritative and heard voice.”
“I am pleased to participate in an intiative that takes on a new form this year and sees a broad involvement of youth associations,” Mattarella stressed. “The Festival will focus on challenging issues and representatives of administrations and experts in different capacities on the issues addressed will speak.
