ROME (ITALPRESS) – “The congress of the National Federation of Nursing Professions Orders is an important opportunity for discussion and proposal, to confirm the fundamental role of the health care system in the pursuit of the objectives of dignity and social cohesion indicated by the Constitution of the Republic. Scientific research, the transformations of our time, present us with unprecedented opportunities for care, but also critical issues.” Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent on the occasion of Fnopi’s national congress to President Barbara Mangiacavalli. “The national health service, with its universalistic character, cannot but rest on a capacity for innovation, territorial rootedness, and the growth of skills,” he added.
For the head of state, “the commitment of institutions at every level, as well as the best organizational solutions would, however, be ineffective without the full involvement, protagonism, knowledge and dedication of health professionals. At the bottom of it all is, in fact, the human dimension of care and assistance services, which, while it cannot do without adequate resources, is expressed in service to individuals, families, and communities. The health personnel have offered uncommon evidence of sacrifice over the years. The opportunity is grateful to me to express the Republic’s gratitude for the contribution of the nursing professions to the health of Italians during the dramatic pandemic that has struck the world, as well as to reiterate the value of any action directed at countering the unacceptable episodes of aggression and vandalism that have occurred against professionals. To all participants in the congress I extend the most cordial greetings, in the hope that it will contribute to the strengthening of further commitment to proximity to citizens, starting with those in fragile conditions,” Mattarella concluded.
