Mattarella “Labor and security are inseparable rights”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “On today’s Day, Italy turns its thoughts to the people who have lost their lives or suffered injuries and illnesses as a result of their work. Today is a day of reflection, remembrance and renewed commitment. Safety at work is a permanent priority for the Republic.” Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the National Association among Workers with Disabilities at Work. “Every life lost, every life compromised calls for a choral commitment to prevent further loss of the health and dignity of those who work. Safety at work, in addition to being a constitutional requirement, is first and foremost a matter of human dignity,” he added. “Ensuring safe working conditions means respecting the life and value of each person, because work is a place of personal growth and fulfillment and cannot be a risk to one’s safety. I renew today the Republic’s closeness to the families of those who have lost a loved one due to accidents at work and a heartfelt appreciation to the activities of Anmil, which for decades has been helping to promote a culture of safety, giving a voice to victims and providing support to their families in times of great difficulty. Work and safety are inseparable rights,” the head of state concluded.
