Mattarella “Security at work is an inalienable right, strengthen the culture of prevention”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on the occasion of the 75th National Day for the victims of accidents at work, sent to the President of ANMIL, Antonio Di Bella, a message. “In Italy, every day, you continue to lose your life at the workplace – writes Mattarella –: the number of deaths and accidents remains tragically high, even in comparison with what happens in the rest of the European Union. Each victim is a face to which we have to voice. Behind each there are people, families, interrupted stories that should not be forgotten. To them is our thought that must inspire collective commitment, so that a new awareness arises from pain: the common will to build safer workplaces, where the life and dignity of each worker are always in the first place.”.

“Security at work – says Mattarella – is an inalienable right, an investment in the value of the human being, the deep meaning of work and the quality of life. With this spirit, I recall the victims and renew the proximity of the Republic to their families. In expressing gratitude to ANMIL for its constant commitment, also in favor of the occupational and social inclusion of those who have suffered an accident at work or a occupational disease, I express to all participants my best wishes so that this day may contribute to strengthening a culture of prevention that protects life”.
