Mazda6e among the first three World Car Design of the Year 2026 finalists

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Mazda6e was selected among the three finalists of the prestigious World Car Design of the Year 2026 award, a recognition that the Japanese brand has already conquered twice in the past. A jury made up of 98 international automotive journalists from 33 countries evaluated suitable vehicles, following the indications of a jury of seven world renowned design experts.

This recognition underlines Mazda’s continuous commitment to pursuing an immersive design, Japanese craftsmanship and the evolution of the brand’s Kodo Design philosophy, adapted to the era of electrification. Combining tradition and innovation, the Mazda6e marks a bold step towards the electric future, while remaining faithful to craftsmanship and aesthetic excellence that define the Mazda brand.

Every detail, from the bodywork sculpted to the cozy and humancentric interiors, reflects Mazda’s dedication to the excellence of materials and to the artisanal approach “Crafted with Japanese Soul”. In addition to the Mazda6e, the Mazda CX-6e, recently presented, expands the range of new generation electric vehicles of the Mazda brand and further contributes to the success story of Mazda in Europe. The first customer feedback shows this enthusiasm, which results in a constant flow of new orders for both models.

“We are honored that the Mazda6e was named among the three finalists for the World Car Design of the Year. This recognition celebrates our commitment to craftsmanship and material care, values expressed by our philosophy “Crafted with Japanese Soul”. The Mazda6e is a beautiful interpretation of the latest evolution of Kodo Design and this nomination strengthens Mazda’s results in global design competitions,” said Jo Stenuit, Design Director, Mazda Motor Europe. The winners of the World Car Design Award 2026 will be announced live on Wednesday 1 April 2026 at the New York International Auto Show during the opening press breakfast.
