BARI (ITALPRESS) – “The exhibition system is a carrier of flows and one of the segments in which Italy excels. We are the fourth nation in the world and the second in Europe, after Germany. In 2025 our fairs involved 18 million and a half visitors, 6% more than 2024 and even 9% more if we go back to 2019. In economic terms the trade fair alone activates more than 10 billion euros of induced”. The Minister of Tourism, Gianmarco Mazzi, said this in Bari during the inaugural ceremony of the 89th edition of the International General Championship of the Fiera del Levante.
“The Fiera Campionaria del Levante, one of the largest economic institutions in the Mezzogiorno, confirms in concrete the attractiveness of our exhibition system. In 2025 he recalled 250,000 visitors, about 10,000 more than the previous year and saw the participation of 400 exhibitors, figures that tell the vitality of an event able to value the productive fabric of the territory and to consolidate the attraction of Bari and Puglia”.
“In the summer that is about to end in this wonderful setting of Puglia, Puglia has recorded a saturation rate that is an important indicator for the world of tourism. Because it says, it indicates the percentage of bookings of rooms and accommodation available in the largest platforms of world tourism. Puglia has marked the result, a saturation rate of 62.2% higher than the national figure and in the first seven months of 2026 has grown of 7.7% in arrivals and 8.1% in attendance. I believe that part of the merit is certainly of those events that we brought together to the local demonstrations and that the government wanted to realize in Puglia. In the first trimester of the year international tourism spending has reached an altitude of 206 million euros, a strong increase of 89 million on 2024 and 59 million on 2025′′.
