ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, today had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in view of a series of work visits that the latter will perform these days in London, Brussels and Rome, as part of his contacts on the peace process in Ukraine with the main European leaders.
During the interview, President Meloni first wanted to renew “Italian solidarity following a new series of indiscriminate Russian attacks against Ukrainian civilian targets and announced to President Zelensky the sending of emergency supplies to support energy infrastructure and the population – explains Palazzo Chigi in a note -. The generators provided by Italian companies will be sent to Ukraine in the coming weeks.”
President Meloni also once again expressed “support for the ongoing negotiating process and the commitment of the United States to identify a path that can lead to a just and lasting peace. Functional on this path is the repeated availability of Ukraine to sit in good faith at the negotiating table.
