Meloni “I will meet Santanchè, no tug-of-war”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “There is no tug-of-war, there is no concern, there is no embarrassment that would even lead me not to show up in the Cdm, to move the date of my visit to Saudi Arabia in order not to meet with Minister Santanchè.” Premier Giorgia Meloni said this in Jeddah, before boarding the Amerigo Vespucci. “There is a reflection that must take into account the big picture, in an absolutely serene climate. I do not think that a mere indictment is itself grounds for resignation. I also think that Minister Santanchè is working excellently,” he added. The assessment “that needs to be made is how much all this may impact her work as minister. That is the assessment that needs to be made with Minister Santanchè and indeed perhaps she needs to make it especially and that is what I am currently unclear about. I think I will meet with her.” On the matter of Almasri, the premier says, “he was returned to Libya for security reasons. He was not released on the government’s orders, it was not our choice. We will give and seek clarification from the International Criminal Court.”
