ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “An irregular Algerian citizen in Italy, who has behind 23 convictions, including injuries for beating a woman to kick and punch, cannot be held in a Cpr, nor transferred to the center in Albania for repatriation. For him, some judges have established not only that there will be no expulsion, but that the Interior Ministry will have to compensate him with 700 euros for trying to enforce an expulsion measure. Now, I think it is fair to ask how illegal immigration can be seriously countered if those who violate the law repeatedly remain on our territory and the state is even sanctioned for trying to enforce the rules. Nevertheless, the government will continue its work with determination to strengthen repatriation, to make more effective the instruments of contrast to irregular immigration, to ensure security and legality to citizens, also through the initiatives that Italy is carrying out in Europe, for faster procedures and effective repatriations.” So premier Giorgia Meloni, in a video on social media.
“The Italians voted the centre-right also for this, to restore clear rules and enforce them and the government is doing so with determination, despite a politicalized part of the judiciary continues to hinder every action aimed at countering illegal mass immigration, because to welcome those who have right is obligatory, to respect the Italian laws is indispensable and those who do not intend to do so is not welcome in Italy,” concludes Meloni.
