ROME (ITALPRESS) – “In recent days, for the first time in a year of Israeli military actions, the positions of the Italian military contingent framed in the UNIFIL mission of the United Nations have been hit by the Israeli army. Even though there were no casualties or major damage, I think it cannot be considered acceptable. And that is exactly the position that Italy has taken, with determination, at all levels. It is the position that I myself reiterated to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.” So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during communications ahead of the European Council on October 17 and 18. “We demand that the safety of our soldiers be guaranteed,” she added.
