“The data released today by Cgia confirm an important positive trend for the labor market in Italy: 847,000 jobs created in the two years of our government. Numbers that encourage us to continue working with determination to create more opportunities and ensure stability and economic growth for our entire nation. Forward!” Thus, in a post on Facebook, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, after this morning the Cgia had released data from its Studies Office according to which in the first two years of Meloni’s government, employment in Italy grew by a total of 847,000 (+3.6 percent). Of these new jobs, 672 thousand are employees and 175 thousand are self-employed. Focusing on employees, the stock of those with a permanent contract in this last two-year period increased by 937 thousand, while workers with a fixed-term contract decreased by 266 thousand. Thus, the percentage incidence of employed workers who currently hold a precarious labor contract decreased to 14.4 percent (-2 points compared to October 2022). Also during the same period, the unemployed decreased to 1,473,000 (-496 thousand) and the inactive to 12,538,000 (-198 thousand). (ITALPRESS).
