Michelin City Touring, tire for safe city cycling

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Michelin introduces the new City Touring tire that emphasizes safety, particularly on wet ground, and durability, thanks to the MagiX rubber compound specifically designed for the City range. Its ability to adapt to both paved roads and unpaved trails is based on a new design that offers reliable braking grip and traction under all circumstances. The priority of urban cyclists is for their tire to be puncture resistant. To meet this expectation, Michelin developed City Shield technology, which uses five summit plies to reinforce its structure. This unique construction allows the new Michelin City Touring to offer 53 percent more protection against tread punctures and 11 percent more resistance against sidewall punctures than its predecessor. While being very strong, it is 31% lighter than its predecessor, thus making for a more dynamic and enjoyable driving experience. Finally, this new Michelin tire offers a service life that lives up to the expectations of the most demanding cyclists. In the first launch phase it will be available in five sizes and three diameters: 26″ (559mm), 27.5″ (584mm) and 29″ (622mm), and three widths 50mm (2.00″), 55mm (2.20″) and 60mm (2.40″). Other sizes will arrive starting in June. The Michelin City Touring fits most electric or non-electric urban bicycles on the market.(ITALPRESS).-Photo: Michelin press office-
