ROME (ITALPRESS) – The gourmet dining elite gathered at the Pavarotti Theater in Modena for the traditional awards of the Michelin Guide 2025, now in its 70th edition. At the event presented by Giorgia Surina, Emilia Romagna Agriculture Councilor Alessio Mammi thanked Michelin for choosing the region and Modena as the location. As per tradition, a first star was awarded to those who distinguished themselves for excellence in the execution of dishes, two stars for fine dining in which the hand of the chef unmistakably emerged, and three for superlative cuisine, in addition to the usual red stars that reward quality and green stars that from 2020 will reward sustainability. Also awarded were the Sommelier Award, Service Award, Young Chef Award and Mentor Chef Award, as well as the Passion Dessert dedicated to the most talented Pastry Chefs. Lombardy is the most represented region in the Guide’s ranking with 9 awards. Then Campania 5, Emilia Romagna 4, Piemone and Veneto 2. With one Calabria, Lazio, Liguria, Molise, Puglia, Sicily and Trentino. With 2 Michelin stars are instead Villa Elena, Marco Galtarossa, Bergamo; Campo del Drago, Matteo Temperini, Montalcino (SI). The 13 restaurants with 3 Italian stars in the 2024 edition are all confirmed, however, comes recognition to the 14th restaurant that goes to Casa Perbellini 12 Apostoli, Giancarlo Perbellini, Verona. Other awards: sommelier of the year goes to Oscar Mazzoleni at Carroponte, Bergamo. The Room of the Year Award goes to Vanessa Melis Pascucci at Porticciolo di Fiumicino (RM). Young Chef of the Year is Matteo Vergine of Grown Restaurant in Albiate (MB). Already a green star, he was honored by Maicol Izzo, Young Chef 2024 who also won 2 Michelin stars last year. Mentor Chef Award: Antonino Cannavacciuolo. On the other hand, 7 restaurants are receiving the Passion Dessert Award: Ristorante Riva, Antonio Lerro, Numana (AN); All’Enoteca Davide Palluda Canale; Il Visibilio Daniele Canella, Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI); Re Santi e Leoni, Luigi Salomone, Nola; Inkiostro, Salvatore Morello, Parma; Agli Amici Dopolavoro, Venice; and Coltivare, La Morra (CN). New Green Stars were instead awarded to Villa Maiella, Arcangelo Tinari, Guardiagrele (CH); Prezioso, Merano (BZ); Artifex, Brenner (BZ); Don Alfonso 1890, Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi (NA); Al Gatto Verde, Modena; Ronchi Rò, Dolena del Collio; Agriturismo Ferdi, Lenna (BG); Il Tiglio, Montemonaco (AP); Locanda La Raia, Gavi (AL); Il Cappero, Isola di Vulcano (ME); Bistrot, Forte dei Marmi (LU).
