Michelin wins four awards at Tire Technology Expo 2026

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – Four international awards for Michelin at the Tire Technology Expo in Hannover, the world fair dedicated to design, production and innovation in the tire sector. From spatial concept to industrial sustainability, to product and career, the French group stands out for the scientific and technological depth of its innovations. The “Concept of the Year” award goes to Michelin Lunar Airless Wheel (MiLAW), airless wheel designed for future Artemis moon missions. The result of more than 20 years of research on airless structures and advanced polymers, is designed to withstand extreme conditions, with technological relapses also for terrestrial applications.

“Pneumatic of the Year” is the Michelin Primacy 5 Energy, summer with European triple A classification for wet grip, energy efficiency and noise. Already chosen by numerous manufacturers for new models in the development phase, it is also distinguished for the kilometric duration at the top of the category. Environmental recognition for the BioButterfly program, developed with IFP Energies Nouvelles and Axens: the process allows to produce butadiene from bioethanol, reducing carbon footprint compared to fossil sources.

Finally, a career prize for Pascal Prost, “Senior Fellow – Pneumatics”, for 35 years of technical contribution, in particular on low rolling resistance tyres and ecodesign. A palmarès that confirms Michelin’s commitment to a more secure and sustainable mobility, on Earth and beyond.
