Milan-Cortina 2026, Abodi “Bob track ready in about 20 days”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – “How far along are the works? We are running, we are running, but we will make it. As for the bobsleigh, skeleton and luge track in about 20 days we will deliver it.” This was announced by Sports Minister Andrea Abodi, host of “Storie Italiane” on Rai1, ahead of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games. “Despite the very short time, the pitfalls of a construction site and some minor sabotage, those working on the site, coordinated by Simico, have succeeded in a miracle,” he adds, “What we have all done together in a year, each with his role, the others do in twice the time. Sometimes we challenge our abilities but in the end we succeed and it is a source of satisfaction. It will be great Games.”

Exactly one year from now there will be the inaugural ceremony of the Paralympics: “By now we are there, the days will pass more quickly than in the past, there is excitement for what is being determined – continued Abodi – Rai gave us a great leap forward in Paris, not only in the perception of the sports phenomenon but also in that of the social phenomenon and the same will be done for Milan-Cortina. It will be of great help, we will celebrate the sporting event and rejoice in the medal victories of our athletes but it will be a qualitative leap with respect to civic literacy regarding the rights of those who live their condition with difficulty.” Abodi emphasizes that “Paralympic athletes are happy, they smile much more than Olympic athletes because they have the awareness not so much of what they have lost or never had but of what they have and sport gives them the chance to find a consecration in society as well.”

LE PAROLE DI ABODI SU JANNIK SINNER

“Sinner will now have a chance and time to catch his breath, he will be able to prepare further and will have additional motivation. I also believe that he has regained his serenity that has been lacking for some time.” Andrea Abodi, Minister of Sport, tries to look at the glass half full of the three-month disqualification settled by world No. 1 Jannik Sinner with Wada over the clostebol case. “Wada has recognized that it is not doping,” Abodi, host of “Storie Italiane” on Rai1, stressed again, “but a lightness of some members of his team who in fact no longer work with him. These three months are a natural step that has also allowed new regulations to be drafted. Unfortunately, they will only come into effect in 2027, but if they change it is also because of this experience he has had. All of this, however, does not touch the judgment and value of the person. Sinner deserves all our respect and gratitude for the positive and educational messages he manages to give off the field,” he concluded.
