Monza-Torino 0-2, Elmas and Casadei decide.

MONZA (ITALPRESS) – Torino overcame Monza 2-0 at the U-Power Stadium in the match valid for the 27th day of the 2024/2025 Serie A championship: goals by Eljif Elmas and Cesare Casadei decided. The visiting lineup immediately started with the foot on the accelerator with a conclusion by Casadei at 6′, which went off the bottom. The men led by Paolo Vanoli continued to push, while the Brianzoli tried to strike on the counterattack. The first real chance for the hosts comes in 18′ with a shot by Keita Balde, which grazes the post. At 27′ there is an insistent action of Vlasic, who leans for Walukiewicz: the defender kicks badly and favors the easy intervention of Turati. At the end of the first half, Monza reappears in the opponent’s half with a conclusion by Kyriakoupoulos, which, however, is blocked by a careful Milinkovic-Savic. On 41′, Torino found the lead through Eljif Elmas, who was good at inserting himself and deflecting a Lazaro cross into the goal, beating Turati. It goes, therefore, to rest on the partial of 1-0. In the resumption, the Piedmontese team picks up where it left off, going very close to doubling the score at 50′ with Casadei, on whose conclusion Turati performs a miracle. The “biancorossi” did not stand by and in the space of a few minutes carved out two important chances, first with Zeroli who kicked high from a good position and then with Adams, who was bricked by an excellent Turati. After taking a few risks, Torino regained control of the match and at 66′ scored the double with Cesare Casadei: the midfielder took advantage of a mistake by Palacios on Adams’ cross to sign 2-0. Coach Alessandro Nesta played his all through substitutions, but failed to turn the tide of the match. In the final, the pace of play dropped considerably and favored the granata, who defended the 2-0 until Rapuano’s triple whistle. By virtue of this success, Torino consolidates 11th place by climbing to 34 points, while Monza remains last at 14. In the next round the Piedmontese will face Parma at the Tardini on Saturday, March 8, while the Lombardi will be engaged at the Meazza against Inter.
