DOHA (QATAR) (ITALPRESS) – The Moroccan football team won last night, at the stadium in Lusail in Doha, the Araba-FIFA 2025 Cup, overcoming Jordan for 3-2 after the additional time, at the end of a fight and full of twists.
The Atlante’s Lions went ahead very soon, already in the 4th minute, thanks to a splendid shooting from the distance of Oussama Tannane. Jordan then overturned the result with a doublet of Ali Olwan (48° and 68°, on rigor), putting pressure on Moroccans. Demonstrating great character, Morocco re-established the parity three minutes from the end of regulatory times with Abderrazak Hamdallah, before the former MAS Fès player siglasse the decisive goal in the first fraction of the extra time (100°).
In the press conference, Moroccan technician Tarik Sektioui greeted a victory obtained “against coriaceous opponents and high-level players”, underlining the difficulties related to preparation and absence, as well as “the commitment, sacrifices and tactical and technical qualities” of his players.
For his part, the selected Jordan Jamal Sellami, also of Moroccan nationality as well as his technical staff, congratulated the Atlas Lions, highlighting the quality of the show offered by both teams. This new success confirms the high level reached by Moroccan football, which in recent years has collected numerous triumphs at a continental and international level.
In this context, Morocco is now preparing to inaugurate, on 21 December, the Cup of Africa of football, competition that the Kingdom hosts and in which the national selection is among the main favourites for the title.
