REGGIO CALABRIA (ITALPRESS) – Seven arrests of the ros of alleged affiliates of the Cosmetic of Siderno (Reggio Calabria) accused for various reasons, of “mafia association”, “damagement” and “extortion”, aggravated by the mafia method. This is the budget of the operation carried out on 17 February, by the Special Carabinieri Operating Group, with the support in the executive phase of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria, within the framework of international police cooperation with the F.B.I. American, who have performed a warrant of suspected crime of the PM, issued by the Prosecutor of the Republic – DDA of Reggio Calabria, against 7 subjects, considered affiliated to the Cosmetic “Commisso”.
The measure of Fermo of suspected crime of the P M was not validated by the competent Judge for the preliminary investigations of the Tribunal of Locri which he issued, at the expense of all the investigating, an order of custody in prison. The survey is part of a series of investigative activities developed over the years by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Reggio Calabria and conducted by the ROS aimed at reconstructing the overall assets of the Ndrangheta, including the working mechanisms and identifying the extra Calabrian and extra national projections.
The investigations, from which precautionary and precautionary measures have been initiated, in particular, “on the basis of the results of numerous criminal proceedings of the Republic of Reggio Calabria which have established the centrality of the Local of Ndrangheta of Siderno in the context of the local and above all international criminal dynamics, so as to be directed to reconstruct the relationship of the Local of Ndrangheta of their own Siderno”.
Investigative activities have covered the so-called “Siderno Group of Organized Crime”, that is, what according to the Canadian Magistrature is at least since the 1970s “a criminal organization based on mafia, with ramifications in Canada, the USA and Australia, states towards which the Calabrese emigration is predominantly conveyed in the past”. This organization was thus defined as it is from Siderno, in Reggio Calabria Province, and from other nearby centers (Joiosa Jonica, Mammola, Sinopoli, Fiumara, Marina di Gioiosa, Gioiosa Jonica, S. Ilario dello Jonio etc.) that comes most of the affiliates to the organization.
